We were asked to look at an object and discuss it in terms of its visual aesthetics. I decided to do mine on my Punjabi Drum 'Dhol'! A Dhol is a double sided barrel drum. The drum is played using two wooden sticks, which are normally made out of bamboo and cane wood. These are called 'Dagga' and a 'Thili'. To play the drum, you have to sling over your neck with a strap, which is usually made out of ropes or 'woven' cloth. I bought this 'Dhol' drum because of the way it looked and the type of wood it was made out from (white wood). The black treble base makes it look very modern and also it gives it a slick finish to the drum! I like the layout of the strings attached to the drum because it looks different to the other drums which are made today.
