Mock Up Design - Social Network

For my social netowrk project, I am goin to do an organisation website on a musician (Kanye West)!

This is a mock up design of my social network. I am goin to try and create a basic design, in which I can use it as my base of my network i.e background image. Then try and use css, flash, javascript, php...(on top of the image)

My Website Portfolio

After Shaun suggesting last week, that we go out and design a website for a company/client/friends... I decided to do a website about my online 'Portfolio'. I have had this idea in my head for quite a time... and think its about time I started making it! Recently I have been very interested in the 'Grunge' theme in web design.. as I find it interesting and very realistic.

For my 'Portfolio' project I have started off by desiging type, that I may co-operate in my website. Below are designs I have produced in my own time.

DSGN + DVLP

Recent Work:


I found the ‘DSGN and DVLP’ website very simple and sophisticated. The design format would appeal to me because it’s the sort of layout I would use and create in my very own website.
The website layout has been done well and looks evenly proportioned. I.e. there is good use of space, colour variation and minimalist design. I like the way the image below the navigation bar goes slightly narrow. I think this looks very unusual and emits quite a bit of energy.
The company was founded in 2008 is based in New York. Furthermore the company produces work for clients worldwide, due to its excellent online contact page. ‘DSGN and DVLP’ is managed by Daniel and Sabrina Schutzsmith. Sabrina Scutzsmith specialises in grant writing, research,project management and event planning. However most recently, her husband Daniel was the Vice President of ‘Core Industries, spearheading their efforts to create a digital agency that focuses on working with clients and projects that fulfil the triple bottom line.

The services that ‘DSGN and DVLP’ provide are; web design (Website Redesigns, User Interfaces, Usability Reviews, Interactive Flash Design, and Iconography), web development (Web Applications, Content Management Systems, and Server-side Installations) and online visibility (Social Media Marketing, Online Visibility Reviews, eMarketing).

In addition from looking at the practitioners work I have picked up alot of key ideas and elemants that I include in my future designs and ideas. I have learnt on how to make my website very clean and sophisticated... all simply down to the layout and the colour variation.

Final Website Design - Improved

For my improved design....

I changed the background colour to a paley grey colour.
Took off the FLASHING text.
Lowered the navigation bar.
Took off the line underneath the navigation bar.
Stretched the size of the navigation bar...so it doesnt look too narrow,

Final Website Design

This is my final website design for 'Shimla Pinks'.
For the logo I was influenced by some 'Grunge' looking website designs.
I kept the website clean and simple, because I wanted to create a kitchen atmosphere and make the place look very sophisticated and fresh looking.
